Similar to last month’s compilation, today’s list also includes some of the best (and free) Android apps. From a smart browser to a cool new app for the book lovers, we have an amazing lot this time. Excited? So are we! Let’s take a look.
1. Opera Touch
Opera Touch is one of the newest Android browsers to hit the shelves. Released just a week ago, this browser is primarily designed for one-handed use. It has a shiny new interface and the browser strictly means business. Why? Well, as soon as you open the app, the cursor is on the address bar, with options for voice search and image search at an easily-accessible location. Nowadays, when most browser apps (read Chrome) have the options and menu on the top right (or left), Opera Touch introduces a fresh new look by putting it at the bottom of the screen where your fingers can quickly find it. As you scroll down, a button for opening new tab presents itself at the bottom. Given that most of the phones have a tall display, it’s a welcome change. The highlight of the app, though, is Flow. This is a feature which lets you transfer your open websites from the Opera browser on your desktop to your Android by scanning a QR code. Quite nifty, if you ask me! Download Opera Touch
2. Google Tasks
Google Tasks is a standalone app from Google to (you guessed it right) create and manage tasks. Fresh out of the oven, this app bears a no-frills look and lets you create reminders or tasks, associate them with emails, calendars, and assign due dates. Moreover, you can also create a list and nest all the common tasks under it. For now, the app doesn’t have the option to add priorities or categories. Hopefully, we’ll see them in the future updates. The feature I liked the most is that you can create a task on Gmail and it’ll reflect on your Tasks app instantly. What’s more, you can also create subtasks. Looks like Google has finally nailed the to-do list game. Download Google Tasks
3. Audiobook Reader
This nifty little app also doubles up as an audiobook. With a plethora of language and a choice between male and female voices, you can customize your ‘hearing’ experience to the fullest. So, all you need to do is import ebooks to your smartphone, plug in your headphones and immerse yourself in the book. On the days when you feel like going the conventional way, you’ll find a wide array of controls available such as text-align, line spacing, brightness, among others. The best thing about this app is that it reads through each line correctly and with grace. Download Audiobook Reader
4. 4K Wallpapers
If you are looking for quality high-res wallpapers for your Android, you must give the 4K Wallpapers app a shot. This app has a huge archive of quality images and the best part is that the wallpapers get refreshed on a regular basis. The wallpapers are neatly categorized. From superhero wallpapers to cool wallpapers of nature, you’d get them all here. Download 4K Wallpapers
5. Glitch Video Effects
Next on our list is Glitch Video Effects. If you’re looking for camera apps which would help your pictures stand out from the crowd, this app with its quirky filters and effects is your best bet. The number of filters is pretty substantial and the makers have assured of more filters in future updates. Apart from that, using this app is as easy as pie. All you need to do is choose a filter and hit the shutter button. Your picture will be saved to the gallery instantly. Download Glitch Video Effects
6. Trendy – What’s Trending Today
Today when almost everyone is pressed for time, it’s imperative that you get your hands on the important news when you want it. Trendy has been created with this purpose. This app lists down all the trending news and articles. What’s more, the posts are short and crisp. Apart from that, you can explore a diverse range of topics through its different categories. For news, you can select the News of the Day tab and you’ll be welcomed with the location-based news. Interestingly, Trendy also has its own share of wallpapers that you can get for your Android phone. Download Trendy
7. Edge Screen – Edge Action
Samsung phones have made the Edge Panel quite popular. With it, you can access your favorite apps and frequent contacts in a jiffy. Given that phones are getting bigger, such panels have turned out to be super convenient. However, if you don’t have a Samsung flagship, worry not, the Edge Screen – Edge Action app will bring the same feature to your phone. All you need to do is install the app and enable it, and the Edge Panel would be visible right away. What makes it interesting is that all the seven panels are available. Plus, you can customize the panels as you like. If you ask me, it’s one of the easiest ways to get the Samsung Edge Panel experience on your Android. Download Edge Screen – Edge Action
