Converting videos online is tedious through a mobile. Thankfully, Android apps can handle pretty much every task you throw at it and extracting audio out of a video is effortless. Here are some of the best audio extractors that we have tested and can recommend. Let’s begin.
1. Video to MP3 Converter
First up on the list is Video to MP3 Converter which contains ads with no in-app purchases. The layout is clean with just four options. I suppose you have the video on your smartphone. If not, save it on your phone’s local or SD card memory first. Now tap on Video to Audio option and select the file you want to extract the audio from. There are two modes — Simple and Advanced. While the Simple mode is self-explanatory, the Advanced allows you to choose the audio encoding and bit rate. If you don’t know what they are, leave them to default. Set Quality to 9 which is highest for best audio output. Tap on Convert at the bottom to begin. You will have to see an ad first. When done, you can either play the audio or set it as your ringtone which is cool. Other features include audio and video cutter. Output is where you can find converted files. 2. Video to MP3 Converter
Another app developer who is using the same app name as the previous one on this list. Anyway, this app’s UI is more colorful and offers one additional feature, Audio Merger which can merge two audio files into one. Tap on Video to Audio option and select the video file. You can assign a name to your file and choose an audio format or even slice parts of video before you begin to extract audio from video. The pro version, for $3.99, will remove ads, convert up to 15 videos at once, and add music cover. The app will extract the audio file from the video while it shows you an ad which was not the case in the previous app. Also, you can increase volume up to 300% which is very useful if the video has a low volume. 3. Breathe Music Player
Breathe Music Player, as the name suggests, is a music player that will catalog all the music stored on your local phone memory. We are not interested in that as there are much better music players out there. Tap on the menu to select the Ringtone Maker option. Select the file you want to convert here. You can select part of the video that you want to extract audio from here. Just enter the time at the bottom of the screen or tap-and-hold to slide, and tap on the scissor icon to begin the conversion. The song should be ready under the Songs or Albums tab, and you can set it as ringtone or assign it to a contact from there if you want. Other features include audio recorder, sleep timer, and equalizer. Breathe Music Player is free and comes ad-supported. Download Breathe Music Player
4. MP3 Video Converter
This is a rather simple app. You select the file and choose between MP3 or AAC format, pick a bit rate, and that’s pretty much it. Ah, yes, you can also name your newly extracted audio file. Tap on Convert to begin the extraction process. There are no advanced options that we saw in some of the above apps. Not everyone needs that many options anyway and this is evident from the download and review numbers that the app sports on the Play Store. MP3 Video Converter is an ad-supported app, and there’s no way to remove them. Download MP3 Video Converter
5. Timbre
Timbre is a powerful app with many features for both your audio and video needs. It is a one-stop solution and with the number of features they pack in a single app, I am surprised the app is still clutter-free and functional. There are two sections: Audio and Video. Under the Video section, tap on Video to audio. Select your video and an output format. You can tap the three dot menu to add over 10 different audio formats! Finally, you can name the newly extracted audio file. Just tap the red video with audio music icon to begin the process. Back on the home screen, tap on the Task button to access all the audio files that you have extracted from videos. Timbre is ad-supported but otherwise free to use with no in-app purchases. The ads are not intrusive either. With the number of conversion and format that is supports, I don’t mind them anyway. Other features include increasing volume, reverse, split, increasing speed of videos, join or cutting parts, and you can also create a GIF. Phew. Too much to share in this guide. Better try it out.
